British India. East India Company - William IV gold Proof Restrike 2 Mohurs 1835.-(C) PR64 NGC, Calcutta mint, KM452.1, Prid-3, S&W-1.4. Type SG. A scarce Restrike featuring the stately bust of William IV surrounded by warm, apricot bloom that is most impressive upon rotation. The reverse design elements are equally as sublime and are awash in the same richness as the obverse. Faint wisps are noted within the fields, as is a light haze that dapples the surfaces. Nearly-gem and with considerable flash, this rarely offered gold specimen is worthy of great attention from the collector community.
