British India. East India Company - Victoria Mohur 1841.-(C) MS63 NGC, Calcutta mint, KM462.2, S&W-3.11. Type B/1; W.W., Crosslet 4. Sharply struck and retaining superb cartwheel luster over both sides, with very few marks for this often significantly abraded issue. Similar in overall appearance, but obviously superior to the NGC-graded MS63 example of KM462.3 that we sold for $11,162.50 in April of 2013. Given that this example is of the much scarcer variety (14 vs. 128 examples graded at NGC) and that its currently the single finest graded at NGC for the variety, we expect significant enthusiasm for this piece that may very well exceed our previous aforementioned price record for this design type.
