Naples & Sicily. Joachim Murat gold 20 Lire 1813 MS64 NGC, KM-C112, Fr-860. A scarce, one-year issue featuring the intricately-styled portrait of Murat--the brother-in-law of Napoleon--surrounded by glistening harvest-gold luster. Upon closer inspection, there appears to be evidence of clashed dies, as well as some rim irregularly due to the edge stamping; however, neither of these elements take away from the overall allure of this offering. In fact, this piece is singularly the finest-known certified example of this type and so it follows that this selection is virtually unrivaled in all regards.
