Wilhelmina I silver Matte Proof Essai 2-1/2 Gulden ND (1890-1948) PR65 NGC, Utrecht mint, KM-Unl., Schulman-793. Impressively stylized in part Art Deco part Modernistic form, with the lion and sword motif on the obverse splitting the denomination, the 1/2 placed inside a rounded 2 on one side, and a rounded G on the other. On the reverse, a large crown tops the W of Queen Wilhelmina. Coarsely textured throughout, a touch of rainbow tone adds further character to this already quirky crown. No contact marks are seen. Very rare as a type, with few others seen.
Estimate: 6000-8000 USD
