Nicholas I gold Coronation Jeton 1826 AU Details (Cleaning) PCGS Genuine, struck for the Coronation of Nicholas I, Diakov-446.9 (R2), Reichel 3453 (AR), Smirnov 414, 22mm. Obv. Crowned cipher of Nicholas I. rev. Crowned two-line inscription, Crowned in Moscow, with date 1826 below. This extremely rare jeton is boldly defined, with lustrous orange-golden color. There is the slightest bit of rubbing on the high points and light hairlines are noted. A few of these pieces in platinum appear, from time-to time, but this is the only gold striking that we have seen and we can find no other reference of a gold example other than this piece.
