Alexander III Coronation Rouble 1883 ЛIII MS65 NGC, St. Petersburg Mint, Bitkin-217, KM-Y43. Obv. Bust right with date below. Rev. Crown, orb, and scepter on pillow, in wreath, with value above. An original, Gem example, with sharply defined details, silvery-gray and reddish-gray patina, and minimally marked, reflective surfaces. Only a total of four pieces have been certified in MS65 by NGC, and PCGS, combined, with none finer. Quite rare in this Gem condition and the first example we have offered. The only similar piece we can reference is an MS65 sold in March of this year by a Russian auction house that brought approximately $15,000.
