Republic 3 Pence 1896 MS67 PCGS, KM3. A coin with spectacular eye-appeal and an equally impressive technical quality to match, featuring the bust of Kruger and a beautifully simplistic reverse design. What truly makes this selection unstoppable is its color. Surrounding the obverse portrait are rings of iridescent tones, first in marine-blue which resides atop the central portion, then in a mottled pattern of golden-amber that speckles the open fields, and finally into a darker ring of vibrant pink and purple which encircles the outermost peripheries. The reverse sports a similar, complimentary appearance, starting with a silvery center that transforms into circles of sea-blue, golden-yellow, and deep mauve. The radiance of this offering is wholly eye-catching; however under magnification, we see that the surfaces are essentially flawless and the devices are resoundingly crisp due to an exacting strike.
