Republic Proof 6 Pence 1892 PR65 PCGS, KM4. Krause lists an estimated mintage of just 35-40 pieces. Of the 26 proof 6 pence that PCGS has graded, just three have been graded PR65 or higher (two at the 65 level and one graded 66). This is an exceptionally bright example with very clean surfaces and just a hint of russet toning at 6:00 on the obverse. The devices are lightly frosted and one is a little surprised that PCGS did not denote it as a Cameo issue. Nonetheless, the eye appeal is superb, and as we have seen from the census data, it doesn't get much better than this.
Estimate: 5000-6000 USD
