Republic Set of Four nickel-plated copper 5 Rand Coins 2000, KM166, 229, 230. An interesting set of 5 Rand coins all minted in 2000 by the South African Mint. The first two examples feature the old Coat of Arms and a black wildebeest on the reverse, with the Proof variety expressing the "CW" mintmark. The third selection features the face of former President Nelson Mandela, and the final issue presents a newer version of the Coat of Arms. With a limited mintage of only 20 sets, this is truly a wonderful group of coins for the collector of South African material. Sold with its original African rosewood presentation box and COA signifying this is the 10th set of issue. Krause catalog price(s) for this item: $4.5 in UNC.
