MALAYA. Board of Commissioners of Currency. 10,000 Dollars, ND (1942). P-17s. Specimen. PCGS About New 53 Apparent. Minor Paper Clip Rust Stain on Back.
(KNB17) Specimen overprint and blacked out regular issue serial numbers. Without overprinted date and signatures. A incredibly significant offering and the first we have handled for this design in any form. The note is shown without price in the current SCWPM and listed as rare. Seen with the open style design that is familiar to all higher denomination notes of this 1942 series. Green inks make up both the large "10000" counter at left and portrait vignette of KGVI at right. Nicely watermarked paper with Malaya twice at lower left and right and lions head at center within a watermark field. A "bowtie," style back design is seen in a deep green with arms at left, right and center. Very little actual circulation is observed on this blacked out A/1 05803 numbered note with mostly handling present. Free from any major distractions other than a touch of rust from a previously attached paper clip. Certainly a high denomination note that is likely missing in even the most advanced collections. Bid accordingly. PCGS About New 53 Apparent. Minor Paper Clip Rust Stain on Back.
