THAILAND PATTERNS. Baht Struck in Copper with Reeded Edge & Medal Alignment, ND (1868). Rama V, Phra Maha Chulalonkorn (1868-1910). NGC PROOF-65 RB.
13.8 gms. KM-Pn28; K&M-pl. F32. White elephant within nine-bladed Chakra, encircled by eight stars denoting denomination; Reverse: Royal seal of King Rama V, a Thai coronet flanked by two umbrellas. RARE. An enticing example with mirrored fields setting it apart from the other patterns. Nearly all orange reverse with much more complex coloring on the obverse, including plum, cranberry and magenta tone with exceptional reflectivity. From a purely aesthetic vantage, one of the most desirable pieces in the collection. NGC PROOF-65 RB.
