CHINA. Shanxi Jingbao. Provincial Mirror Ingots. 50 Tael Local Tax Ingot, ND (ca. 1820-50).
1873.99 gms. BMC-Class I Group A. "Dao Guang Nian Yue" (Cast during the Daoguang Era). "Yang Qu Xian" (Yangqu County). "Tai Yuan Hao" (Taiyuan Prefecture). "Zhou Xing"-"Jing Ji" (Generally circulating mirror-like ingot). A sixth stamps appears diagonally in the center of the face which contains three or possibly four characters, the first (Xu?) and last (Yi?) being the most discernible but still not conclusive. The presence of the first two added stamps identifying the ingot as circulating silver was generally used for the finest publicly agreed silver. A very original ingot featuring several more stamps then is typically seen on ingots of this type. Some rougher areas of the face as a result of the original casting. VERY FINE.
Estimate: $10000.00- $12000.00
