CHINA. Yuehaiguan Fangcaoding. Provincial Maritime Customs Square Trough Ingots. 9 Tael Customs Ingot, Year 30 Month 5 (June, 1850).
349.66 gms. BMC-Class LIX. "Yue Hai Guan" (Guangdong Maritime Customs). "Dao Guang San Shi Nian Wu Yue Ri" (Made in the 30th year 5th month of Emperor Daoguang). A rather perplexing ingot as it seems to be dated to several months after the Emperor to whom's reign it is inscribed. Small chopmark in center of face and seemingly one on the base as well. Close inspection is recommended. VERY FINE.
