GERMANY. Lot of (3) Boxer Rebellion Campaign Medals, 1901-02.
Li-pg. 100; Vernon-2791. 3 pieces in lot. Includes: (3) examples of varying sizes and metal content; in Bronze (32.5 mm), in white metal (32.5 mm) and a privately made miniature in white metal (15.3 mm). The design for these medals show: German eagle vanquishing Chinese dragon; Reverse: Crowned "W", "SIEGREICHEN STREITERN / 1900 CHINA 1901". Each has a correct ribbon. Bronze medal appears to have been gilt but with little gold remaining, the most desirable piece here being the steel example which is remarkably well preserved with no indication of corrosion. An interesting group German colonial medals. EXTREMELY FINE-ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.
