Bruce-M238; Sweeny-ADV23. Ralph Heaton & Sons Issue. Struck at the Birmingham England mint of Ralph Heaton. SCARCE, only the second example we have ever handled. Lustrous brass surfaces without spotting or any other issues. A remarkably well preserved example of this sample coinage. These pieces were produced by the Birmingham mint for use as samples to be given to Chinese dignitaries showing the quality of the work done by the minting equipment that they produced in order to get contracts to sell minting equipment to the Chinese government.
