CHINA. Pattern 50 Cents (1/2 Dollar), Year 3 (1911). Tientsin Mint. PCGS SP-62 Secure Holder.
L&M-39; K-228; Y-30; WS-0047; Wenchao-pg. 138#121 (rarity three stars). Silver. Like many of the 1911 issues, this pattern or proposed design was never adopted for mass production due to the outbreak of the 1911 revolution. Instantly recognizable as a very special coin, the care with which it was made and the resulting product are amazing. The scales of the dragon have such a sharp and deep strike, that the beast has taken on a three dimensional appearance. RARE specimen, with a dragon that looks as if he is poised to leap right off the surface of the coin! Deep smoky blue tone fills in portions of the fields, particularly near the rims, and lends additional character to the piece. A coin that is destined to become the centerpiece of the collection it resides in, and that is certain to become a favorite of its new owner. PCGS SP-62 Secure Holder.

Estimate: $50000.00- $70000.00
