L&M-858; K-642; Y-322; WS-0094. Yuan Shih-kai in high feathered hat, without engraver (L. Giorgi) signature. A bright fully original example with traces of apricot tone neatly tucked into the denticles. More intense toning including deep blue, extends up into the lower portions of the uniform, and along the legends at 10 o'clock on the reverse. Virtually mark-free, and with a wonderful initial impression given to the viewer in hand. The portrait really comes to life at this lofty grade level; a real prize to behold. NGC MS-66.
