L&M-442; K-184; Y-62; WS-0606; Wenchao-609 (rarity two stars). This RARE piece was struck in the 22nd year of Kuang Hsu and represents the first year of issue for the Pei Yang Arsenal. During the first few years of operations, the mint assigned denominations using a decimal system. The largest coin in this set is denominated as a dollar, with subsequent equivalents for the smaller denominations. This deviated from the normal 7 Mace 2 Candareens used by most mints. According to Chinese customs report, the mintage for this issue was 5,000. Lustrous and highly attractive, abundant and brilliant frosty mint luster graces the surfaces.
