CHINA. Kweichow. Auto Dollar, Year 17 (1928). PCGS AU-50 Secure Holder.
L&M-609; K-757; Y-428; WS-1109. Two blades of grass variety. Zhou Xicheng was the provincial warlord governor of Kweichow from July of 1927 through April of 1929. Although his time in office was short, Xicheng focused heavily on education and modernizing the province through public works. This fascinating issue was minted by the order of Zhou Xicheng, struck to commemorate the completion of the Kweichow (Guizhou) provincial highway and reportedly features Governor Zhou Xicheng's personal automobile. Better than normal strike, evenly applied dark toning, and well preserved for the type, this issue is normally found with considerable wear, cleaned, and/or some form of surface issues.
