Purportedly the pattern for the gold 400 Yuan commemorative piece, which celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic. The obverse design is nearly identical to the gold 400 Yuan piece, the difference being the exclusion of the denomination, and in its place two characters stating "commemorative". The obverse design features the famous Tiananmen Square. An interesting and RARE pattern. NGC PROOF-69 CAMEO.
