Hadrian. AD 117-138. AR Denarius (17mm, 3.40 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck circa AD 134-138. Laureate head right / RESTITVTORI AFRICAE, Hadrian standing left, holding volumen, about to raise Africa who is kneeling right, holding grain ears and wearing elephant skin headdress; between them, two upright stalks of grain. RIC II 322; RSC 1223. VF, toned, a few scratches. Rare and popular type.
