ELECTROTYPE, Roman Imperial. Augustus. 27 BC-AD 14. "AR Denarius" (19mm, 3.39 g, 12h). British Museum electrotype by Robert Ready or his sons. Bare head right / ARMENIA above, RECEPTA below, tiara on left, quiver and bowcase on right. Head, Guide, Period VII.A., 35. For prototype, cf. RIC I 517 and RSC 13. As made, attractively toned.

This electrotype copies a coin that celebrates Roman victories over the Armenians. The tiara or mitra (mitre), on the reverse, is the distinctive headdress associated with the Armenians.
