ALWAR:LOT of 28 rupees in the names of Sheodan Singh (1857-1874) and Queen Victoria, type KM-37: 1859 year 2, 1860 year 3 (3 pcs.), 1860 regnal year off flan (2), 1863 year 6, 1864 year 7, 1864 year 8, 1865 year 8 (2), 1865 year 9, 1865 year off flan, and 1866 year 9, also 6 pieces without AD date and uncertain regnal year, and 8 pieces lacking both date & regnal year, all VF or better, some EF, relatively few edge marks, some without any edge marks, retail value $750, lot of 28 pieces, ex Paul Stevens Collection. Most of these pieces have one or more testmarks and banker's stamps on the edge, a common practice amongst the merchants of Alwar State. Some piece may have up to 8 or 10 such marks.
