SIKH EMPIRE: AR rupee (8.23g), Peshawar, VS1893//1892, KM-98.2, Herrli-13.02.04, gorgeous strike, one of the finest we have seen, EF, RRR. Although it is not surprising that a die dated VS1892 would still be used during 1893, it is extremely rare for the Sikh coinage of Peshawar, and we have not traced any other examples with mismatched dates. The use of mismatched dates was relatively common at the same time for the Barakzay coinage of Kabul.
