JAPAN: AR medal (26.79g), hand engraved on a Chinese "memento dollar" (L&M-49) on either side of the bust of Sun Yat-sen, right column reads "Sino-Japanese Incident", left column reads "to commemorate the participation of military action [in the Sino-Japanese Incident]", mount removal at reverse at 12 o'clock, ex Jiùjinshan Collection. Possibly issued to commemorate the "January 28 Incident or Shanghai Incident" in 1932 or the "Mukden Incident, or Manchurian Incident" of 1931-32.
