ALID OF TABARISTAN: al-Hasan b. al-Qasim, 927-929, AV dinar (3.80g), al-Muhammadiya, AH316, A-E1524, inscribed with the ruler's title, al-radi min al-muhammad, on the reverse, al-muwaffaq li-ta'at Allah on the obverse, nice strike with just a touch of weakness, VF, R. Formerly of the greatest rarity, we would now estimate that about 20-30 pieces appeared in the AH323 and AH329 dinar hoards, and it is likely that these have now largely been absorbed into the market.
