The first item is now considered to be a pass for the horse race meetings held at Camlork, Braddan, in the 1870s. The Manx Electric Railway Co Ltd was formed on 14 November 1902, when it took over the assets of the collapsed Isle of Man Tramways & Electric Power Co Ltd; after a period of financial difficulty post-War the company was acquired by the Manx Government in 1957. Percy Towns, 62 Strand street, Douglas, was a specialist in watches, jewellery and cutlery (Alan Kelly, pers. comm.)
