Republic 8 Soles 1838 PTS-LM MS62 NGC, Potosi mint, KM97. Lustrous Mint State with attractive surface quality and and impressively strong strike, with unusually sharply rendered details on the bust. An excellent representative of the type, popular with crown and Bolivariana collectors alike, conditionally rare and very desirable in this charming quality. A less sharply struck example in the same technical designation hammered at $1,600 in one of our recent sales (Heritage Auctions 4/2015, lot 31642).
