Pedro II gold 4000 Reis 1699/7-(R) AU58 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint (no mintmark on coin), KM98, Russo-31. The 1699/7 overdate variety, albeit not identified as such in the slab. Partially lustrous and well preserved, with slight wear on the raised devices, per the grade, and attractive orangish toning. A crude and quite charming two-year type, scarce and desirable in this better preservation.
