Republic silver Pattern 2000 Reis 1910 MS63 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM-unl. (see comment following), Russo-unl., Bentes-unl. Struck on a thin planchet. Choice Mint State with attractive old patina and surface contact marks commensurate with the technical designation. Russo and Bentes both list the "Austrian" variety pattern for this date with different font style, the latter reference plating such a coin dated 1907. The cataloguer presumes that the KM-Pn206 entry refers to the aforementioned "Austrian" variety as well. This pattern struck on a thin - basically half-weight - planchet appears to be unlisted. Extremely rare, the only such example seen by the cataloguer, particularly desirable in this fine preservation and with a superb pedigree. Ex. Norweb Collection (Spink America 3/1997, lot 1212)
