Edward VII Five-piece Specimen Set 1908, Ottawa mint, KM-SS15 comprised of: Large Cent, 5 Cent, 10 Cent, 25 Cent, and 50 Cent in the original red snap-lock case, with blue satin and velvet interior. The inside of the case is marked in gold lettering, "FIRST COINAGE OF CANADIAN MINT-OTTAWA-1908." The Cent denomination displays striated tone over reddish-brown surfaces, and the silver issues all boast mottling in multi-tonal shades of gray--indicative of coins that have rested inside a velveteen case for a number of years. An altogether pleasing group with a mintage of just 1,000 sets struck.
Estimate: 2000-2500 USD
