Philip IV gold 2 Escudos 1635-NR MS61 NGC, Nuevo Reino mint, KM4.1. Mint State with attractive surface quality, albeit double or triple struck on the obverse (shield) side. The last two digits of the date are fairly clearly seen on the reverse. A most pleasant example of this popular and scarce issue, rare with the date readable and most desirable so finely preserved.Ex. Mesuno Hoard, with letter from Banco de la Republic regarding the envelope addressed to Vice-Admiral Sidney Meyrick, as well as hand-written 1938 note by Meyrick noting that this coin was given to him by the bank.
