Republic gold Proof 4 Pesos 1916 PR63 Cameo NGC, Philadelphia mint, KM18, Fr-5. Choice Proof with brilliant surfaces, light toning and most attractive cameo effect. A very rare date in Proof, with a reported mintage of only 10 pieces and missing in the Eliasberg collection. Similarly to the hereby offered Proof 2 Pesos 1916, also missing in the public auction of the Norweb collection (Christie's Dallas, 5/1985), thus presumably acquired from that family at a different time.
