Louis XIV 1/2 Ecu 1694-S MS62 NGC, Troyes mint, KM295.18. An incredibly interesting piece showing extensive evidence of the previous coin's reverse motif where the face of Louis XIV should be. Despite some missing elements from the current strike--although what is visible is noticeably sharp--the surfaces present a handsome, silvery base with golden color that weaves through the obverse legends and turquoise iridescence that encircles the reverse periphery. An altogether multi-faceted offering, highly engaging as such.
