Republic Proof 2 Francs 1851-A PR65 NGC, Paris mint, cf. KM760.1 (unlisted in Proof). Rare, and quite possibly unique in a Proof designation, this stunning selection features desirable cabinet patination with underlying, watery iridescence in a mixture of coppery-red, royal blue, and bright champagne. Even without the aid of magnification, the eye is immediately drawn to the design motifs which exhibit pinpoint definition and are surrounded by choice reflectivity. An altogether premium selection and currently the only-known certified example in a Proof classification.
