Napoleon III silver Obverse and Reverse Uniface Die Trial 5 Francs 1856-A, 1) Obverse - SP65 PCGS2) Reverse - SP62+ PCGSParis mint, Maz-1485 var. (separate planchets). By Bouvet. Each example displays considerable reflectivity in the fields, with attractive mixtures of mauve, gold and blue tone that vary in intensity. On the back of both pieces, a hand-cut retrograde "5 F" is struck on the design-absent side; a somewhat fresh scratch is mixed into the reverse inscription on the obverse trial, but being on the non-focal side, it should be of limited concern. Together, a wonderful opportunity for the advanced pattern collector.
