Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Fredrich II gold 2 Taler 1782 MS62 NGC, KM210, Fr-1723. An exquisite representative from this ephemeral series, featuring the armored bust of Fredrich II and a glowing amount of original luster. Almost immediately, the eye is drawn to the expertly-struck design motifs, especially the well-styled bust of the King, with each individual detail fully-rendered and very little softness to speak of. The reverse is equally attractive, with the addition of coppery-tone that dapples the lower regions near the date. Minor handling is noted within the open areas; however, the central elements more than steal the show on this coin. A conditionally rare example of this scarce type. Krause catalog price(s) for this item: $550 in VF, $1150 in EF, $3150 in UNC.
