Stolberg-Stolberg. Christoph Ludwig II gold 1/8 Ducat ND (1759) MS64 NGC, KM242, Fr-3341. An ideal example of this small gold issue featuring a stag and monogrammed initials. Even without the aid of magnification, a bold strike is readily evident--the intricately-styled design elements appear razor sharp--and other than light flan porosity, the fields are free of any noteworthy marks. One of the finest examples of this type we've encountered, nearly-Gem and highly engaging as such.
