Great Britain
Elizabeth I gold 1/2 Pound ND (1560-61) XF40 PCGS, 2nd Issue, Cross-crosslet mm, S-2520. An appealing coin in many ways, with a generally well-defined portrait weak only on the queen's forehead, legends and the crown over the reverse shield also quite sharp, unusually mark-free surfaces, only slightly wavy flan, and lovely old-gold color. Elizabeth's name is really clear, as is the charming reverse legend, which translates to mean "The shield of faith shall protect her." This was a valuable piece of money in its day, valued at 10 Shillings, and commerce in the 1560s was "rough," so it's a matter of good luck and chance for such a coin to survive in this quality.
