Victoria gold Proof 1/2 Sovereign 1839 PR63 Deep Cameo PCGS, Royal mint, KM735.1, S-3859, WR-343. A fully reflective jewel, highly coveted in this lovely preservation, with vivid golden surfaces and starkly contrasted central motifs that appear to float over the fields. While only really mentionable for accuracy's sake, we also note a broadly rotated second strike on the obverse, mostly apparent around the legends, as well as a curly lintmark near 11 o'clock. Overall, a striking gold issue from this ever-popular first proof set of Queen Victoria.
