Elizabeth II "VIP" Proof 5 Shillings (Crown) 1960 PR64 Cameo NGC, KM909 Proof (30-50 struck), S-4143 (Proof - "frosted design"), ESC-393M (R4). A particularly beautiful and choice example of this modern rarity with glittering and almost flawless surfaces, a tiny patch of carbon on the "H" of the queen's name, but otherwise having the eye-appeal of a finer piece. Distinguishable from the ordinary coins sold to the public at the 1960 British Exposition in New York, and easily so, by its depth of strike and mirrored fields set off by high, squared-off rims. Very rare. The 2015 SCBC gives a value of £850.From The Bob Bennett Collection Krause catalog price(s) for this item: $35 in UNC.
