Republic Quetzal 1925-(P) AU50 NGC, Philadelphia mint, KM242. A minimally circulated example of this one-year type featuring the Quetzal bird atop an engraved pillar. Between gleaming champagne color intermixed with gray patina and well-styled design motifs, this crown absolutely delights. Of notable importance, just over half of the original mintage of this issue was melted down between 1927 and 1928, leaving roughly 3,000 pieces extant.
Estimate: 1100-1400 USD
