Republic gold Commemorative 50 Pesos 1957 MS67 PCGS, Mexico City mint, KM-M22a, Grove-698. Struck to commemorate the centennial of the 1857 constitution. Superb Gem Uncirculated with essentially perfect surfaces, as expected for this most unusual technical designation. A handsome and popular modern medallic issue, very scarce in gold (Grove indicated a combined mintage of 73,000 pieces for this and the Grove-699 type, the vast majority of which were of the latter) and undoubtedly rare in this superb quality.
