Ferdinand VI gold 8 Escudos 1749/8 L-R AU53 NGC, Lima mint, KM47, Onza-564. The overdate 1749/8 variety although not identified as such in the insert. Well preserved with sharply defined details and little actual wear, albeit with dull toning, thus obviously a sea-salvage piece, in all probability from the La Luz shipwreck. A quite impressive representative of this very elusive issue, rare in this unflawed and engaging quality.
