Cape of Good Hope. British Colony - Victoria Proof Penny 1889 PR64 Cameo NGC, Brussels mint, this is not the Long Horn type as listed on the NGC holder as the "Head of Hope is directly below the first O of GOOD in the inscription," on the reverse, as described in Hern. This is the Short Horn type with, "the head of Hope between the G and O in the inscription." This is reverse 2. The obverse is Obverse 2. This appears to be the type of Hern-C8, but struck in copper-nickel, and unlisted in Hern with this type, in this metal. The only example of this type we have seen.The Read Collection
