Gustav Vasa Daler 1544 VF Details (Graffiti) NGC, Svartsjo mint, SM-157b, Davenport-8698. Variety with obverse legend as SVE and without CI. A popular early dated type, overall very similar to the Eric Newman specimen that we sold in January 2014 for $3,290, with perhaps a touch more wear, but also a very bold strike and much less obvious graffiti (as is very common to the type) in the field to the left and right of Christ on the reverse. As such, we expect similar if not greater demand for this widely coveted early crown.
