MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Alexander III the Great (336-323 BC). AR drachm (4.33 gm). Posthumous issue of Colophon, ca. 322-319 BC. Head of Heracles right, wearing lion skin headdress / Zeus seated left, holding eagle and scepter; barleycorn in left field, spearhead in outer right field. Price 1750. Small delaminations on reverse near edge, otherwise well struck in choice metal and nicely toned. NGC MS 5/5 - 4/5. Ex Glendining's (London, 4 October 1988), lot 728.
