Head of Arethusa left, hair in sakkos adorned with a star, wearing triple-pendant earring and necklace; ΣYPAKOΣION and pellet before, star behind / Herakles kneeling to right, strangling the Nemean Lion. The reverse type of Herakles strangling the Nemean lion may be a reference to Dionysios' conflict with Carthage, who employed the African lion as one of their sigils, and featured it as the principal type on several of their coin issues.
