ITALY, Papale (Stato pontificio). temp. Eugenius IV. 1431-1447. AV Ducato (21mm, 3.44 g, 7h). Imitating Venice. St. Peter standing right, presenting banner to kneeling senator; Condulmer family coat-of-arms and rosette in field below / Christ standing facing within mandorla containing nine stars. Cf. CNI XV 660; Muntoni 134; Berman 152; Friedberg 2. Good VF, toned. Rare.

The final issue of the anonymous ducat series at Rome. It can be firmly dated by the family arms to the reign of Eugene IV, who introduced conventional papal ducats that replaced such Venetian-style anonymous issues.
