MEXICO, Primera República. 1823-1863. AV 2 Escudos (22.5mm, 6.78 g, 6h). Guadalajara mint; Juan de Dios Guzmán, assayer. Dated 1863/1 G JG. Eagle standing facing on cactus, wings spread, grasping snake in beak and right talon; all atop laurel and oak wreath / Hand left, pointing to open book inscribed LEY and holding liberty cap on pole. BW 209.3; Grove 4864; KM 380.3. In NGC Encapsulation graded MS 62, with Photocertificate.
